Brett Minzner has been travelling internationally since he was a child. Visiting his grandmother frequently in Florida, spending every summer in Harbour Island, Bahamas for 20 years, he grew to love Florida and the islands. The love of travel turned into a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of South Carolina in Hotel & Tourism Management and a Masters of International Business from The Chapman School of Business at Florida International University in Miami.
After a short stint as a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer Instructor in Grand Cayman, he took a job with a domestic extended-stay hotel brand opening new-build hotels throughout Florida and the Southeast United States. His last hotel opening took him to Miami, where he became a General Manager for a international hotel brand, moving up through the ranks, to eventually become the South Florida Area Manager of Revenue Management, Sales, and Operations.
Wanting to be closer to his family, he moved to Orlando, Florida to work for Auro Hotels as a Corporate Director of Revenue Management for Hilton & Marriott brands, overseeing 14 full and select service hotels located from Miami to North Carolina.
While at Auro Hotels, he worked very closely with his Expedia Market Management Team and was recruited by Expedia to join them as their Market Manager for the State of North Carolina. After one year, he switched markets to the Caribbean, managing 10 island nation markets. After five years, he was promoted to the first Caribbean/Latin America Area Manager, overseeing 23 of the 27 island nation markets in the Caribbean. Winning numerous awards with Expedia, he was tasked to be the Caribbean/Latin America Market Management liaison for Expedia Media Solutions (Miami), Expedia Air Team (Seattle), Analytics and Reporting Team (Geneva, Switzerland), and Expedia.nl/nl.Hotels.com Netherlands Marketing Team (Amsterdam and London). After the KLM Curaçao Marathon in November 2014, while having lunch with executives from KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, KLM Package Deals (now rebranded as KLM Holidays) was conceptualized.
With nearly 10 years at Expedia and extensive travel to six continents and 65+ countries, it was time to move on. After a 9-month contract at SOR Technology and nearly one year at TravelClick/Amadeus, Brett developed and launched the new Hotel Procurement Team at Bluegreen Vacations Unlimited.
With the global travel industry experiencing an unprecedented event due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Brett contracted with Cendyn to oversee the re-launch of Digital Marketing of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts + Karisma Hotels and Resorts accounts to help them re-open post pandemic. With this additional digital marketing experience, Sun Travel Solutions was launched! We are here to help hotels and destinations manage their Revenue Management, Digital Marketing, Social Media, Competitive Intelligence, OTA/Wholesale Relations, Trade Show Representation, Contract Negotiations, Hotel Software Expertise, and soon Accounting.
Brett, and his lovely wife Lina, have been married for 25+ years and have two sons, a Golden Retriever, a cat, and a turtle.
